Job Requirements
- Current student working toward BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
- High academic standards (3.50/4.00 GPA or above)
- Experience with scripting languages, in particular Tcl/Tk and Perl
- Familiarity with unit and system level testing
- Experience working with PC's and computer networks
- Other programming experience an asset
Job Description
The student would be a member of the software Quality Assurance team at Broadcom Canada. The QA team is responsible for testing Broadcom VOIP software products. Team members are involved with designing automated test scripts and test data post-analysis routines for a variety of telecommunications algorithms and systems. In this position, the student is exposed to many different concepts of modern communications. These include voice and video encoder/decoder algorithms, voice and video over WiFi systems, fax protocols, telecommunications signaling, and network protocols, all within a packet telephony environment (VoIP).
