Health Care Benefits
Broadcom provides Healthcare Expense Benefit. Carrier: GWL (Great-West Life). 100% company paid supplemental medical plan that includes:
- Emergency ambulance services
- In Canada hospital (semi-private room) accommodation
- Prescription drugs (pay-direct drug card)
- Paramedical services - maximum of $400 per practitioner/per calendar year/per member
- Medical supplies and diagnostic services
- Emergency Global Medical Assistance card
- Private duty nursing care up to $7,500 in 12 months (up to age 65)
- Out-of-Canada emergency care
Provincial Medical and Healthcare Benefits
Health Insurance BC - Medical Service Plan of BC (MSP) and Fair PharmaCare
100% company paid (employees are taxed on dollar value) MSP covers medically necessary services of a general practitioner or medical specialist. Fair PharmaCare provides reimbursement for some prescription drugs.
Health Insurance Ontario - Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP)
OHIP covers medically necessary services of a general practitioner or medical specialist. Some services are covered only when rendered in a hospital. The Ontario Drug Benefit Program is also available to eligible Ontario residents.
Health Insurance Québec - R'egie de l'assurance maladie Québec (RAMQ)
RAMQ covers medically necessary services of a general practitioner or medical specialist. Some services are covered only when rendered in a hospital. Basic prescription drug coverage is also included under the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan.
Dental Care
Our Carrier: GWL (Great-West Life) provides comprehensive coverage. Preventive/Basic dental services are covered 100% through this plan. Orthodontia services for both adults and children are also provided.
Vision Care
Broadcom's benefits include comprehensive vision coverage provided through Carrier: GWL (Great-West Life). Vision care reimbursed at 100%.
Survivor's Benefits
Broadcom pays for Group Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance coverage.
Disability Programs
Broadcom pays for Long Term Disability. If you become ill or injured and are unable to work, these benefits provide income protection for longer periods of disability.
Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan
With Broadcom's Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan, you have a variety of investment options. Contributions can be made with matching contributions from the Company.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
This plan enables Broadcom employees to purchase company stock at below market price. The ESPP also offers potential gain above the market price on the stock purchase dates.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Broadcom's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential assessment and counseling program designed to help you with life's challenges and problems. There is no cost to you, your spouse, domestic partner or dependents.
Paid Time Off
Broadcom employees accrue 15 days of paid vacation during their first year of employment. After 5 years of service thereafter, employees accrual rate will increase one day per year to a maximum of 20 days of paid vacation.
Holidays & Sick Days
Employees receive 10 company paid holidays per year and 6 paid sick days.
