Two 10-Gbps to 80-Gbps Line Card Reference Designs and One Fabric card with Up to 160-Gbps Bandwidth
The Negev Reference system consists of up to two line cards, with capacity ranging from 10Gbps to 80Gbps, and one fabric card, providing up to 160Gbps total user bandwidth. The fabric card can utilize the FE device, or can be a simple shorting card, demonstrating a mesh configuration. This demonstrates the SAND solution for smaller systems, where a few FAP devices can connect to each other without an active fabric.
Similar to the Gobi, the Negev system highlights the versatile traffic-management capabilities of the SAND chipset. The Negev system demonstrates that a system built using the SAND chipset can address the needs of the Enterprise and Data Centers, while meeting Service Providers' traffic-management requirements in the Metro, Core and Edge, where compliance to specifications from the Metro Ethernet Forum and other standard bodies is required.
